Lady Liberty

Our democratic republic was founded to protect people’s inherent liberties, as outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. A government’s core purpose is to manage interactions between people by upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability when the law is broken.

The government’s central focus should be on protecting people’s rights equally, fostering economic stability, and providing equal opportunities for individuals to pursue their goals and interests. While disagreements are inevitable, no person’s rights or beliefs should be considered superior. Balancing competing interests should prioritize the greater public good, ensuring neither the majority dictates to the minority nor the minority controls the majority.

People are imperfect and driven by passions, but our system of government is designed to mitigate impulsive policy swings. This system requires constant vigilance and participation. A commitment to the rule of law, equal rights, and shared destiny unites us beyond any divisions. Our prosperity and unity depend on active, informed, and engaged citizens working together to sustain and improve our union.
